Dr. Alexandra Jaquery's earliest memories are of playing with teeth. Her father, a dentist and university professor, would take Alexandra with him to the clinic, the university or the lab. She grew up in the tropical island-city of Vitoria, Brazil where she enjoyed water sports and won state-wide competitions in wind surfing, tennis and skating. Alexandra completed high school at the age of 16 and within one year passed a series of qualifying exams for dental school, ranking highly. Upon attaining her DDS in 1990, she joined a private practice as an associate as well as a team of clinicians who brought to Brazil several brands of dental implant systems. Additionally,Alexandra volunteered at a public hospital providing dental care to thousands of peasant farmers, led dental students in community outreach, and helped her husband Vini with a US based non-profit organization, International Reach Incorporated, providing adoptions for Brazilian orphans and working with street children. The Jaquerys were often in the US, where Dr. Jaquery attended numerous dental conferences and seminars. To address the needs of their own growing children, they relocated to the US in 2001. Dr. Jaquery completed a Masters in Restorative Dentistry at the University of Michigan in 2007, where she remains a clinical instructor on a part time basis, and where the Jaquerys make their home.
